Ireland sets employment terms mainly in statute, but construction has a legally binding pay order of its own, and postings are declared to the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).
Sectoral Employment Order
In construction, the Sectoral Employment Order sets minimum pay by grade, pension contributions and sick pay.
PPS numbers
Workers on an Irish payroll need a PPS number, the personal public service number used for tax and social welfare.
Safe Pass on site
Anyone working on a construction site needs a valid Safe Pass, the national safety awareness card.
